Aboriginal artist Corrie Hunt createad a unique design for each and every one of the 1014 Olympic medals. In total they are worth 1.8 milion dollars.

We know how hard the athletes work and we wanted to make something really extraordinary for them,We wanted unique medals to represent the unique nature of each athlete

Hunt said.

And here’s another fun fact: they are THE ABSOLUTE HEAVIEST medals ever created for an Olympics, weighing between 500 and 576 grams each.
